SimAcademy 2026 with TechSoft

On the weekend of 24–25 October, four of us attended a training course on FEM and CFD simulations in Ansys at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, CTU in Prague, organised for us by our sponsor TechSoft.

Getting ready for ERC 2027

We are upgrading the K3P4 rover and preparing for the European Rover Challenge 2027.

Recruiting new members

We will soon hold a recruitment event. Come and see the rover and meet the team! We will announce the exact date on Instagram.

About us

RoverOva team logo

Our team of students from VŠB-TUO is developing the K3P4 exploration robotic rover. The goal of the project is to design a versatile vehicle for international competitions such as the European Rover Challenge (ERC) and the University Rover Challenge (URC). Being part of the team broadens our knowledge of mechanical design, electronics, control, team management and collaboration – we get to try every field and everyone finds what they enjoy.

Our team includes bachelor's and master's students from VŠB-TUO. Being part of RoverOva is a great experience and an advantage for a future career in research and development in many fields.

We are currently preparing for the 2027 competition season.

Where we have competed

We first came to the European Rover Challenge in 2016 as guests. The ideas of the student teams inspired us so much that we decided to start our own team. Since then we have taken part in these competitions:

  • ERC 2018 – 5th place and a special jury award for fair play. It was our first competition.
  • ERC 2019 – 3rd place. After a year of preparation, we brought home bronze from Poland.
  • ERC 2020 – 2nd place in the remote edition of the competition and a special award for autonomous navigation and the science report.
  • ERC 2021 – 6th place, even though school closures meant there were only six of us.
  • Anatolian Rover Challenge 2022 – 4th place and two awards for the best subsystems: difficult terrain traversal and the robotic arm.
  • University Rover Challenge 2023 (USA) – 18th place. We scored the most points in the qualification round.
  • ERC 2023 – we qualified.
